Sustainable Bridal Looks You’ll Wear After the Wedding

In this day and age, a lot of us are kind of over dropping serious money on something we'll only wear once, (especially in this economy)! On top of that, the idea of contributing more to waste, when there's already so much of it in the fashion world, just doesn't sit right anymore. So the question we (and more and more brides) are asking is: why can't this be something I actually wear again? Bridal pieces that look bridal on the day but can (and should) absolutely be worn beyond it are starting to feel less like a nice-to-have and more like the goal for brides shopping for bridal events, wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, bachelorette parties, and more.

This is absolutely the thinking behind our bridal collection. Every piece was designed to be chic enough for the bridal events but timeless and ready to wear enough to wear normally. The dresses are made from cotton or cotton blends, and the rest of the collection uses a recycled polyester and rayon blend, both chosen for quality, comfort, and longevity. 

The cotton pieces

The Louise Dress and Charlotte Jacket are made from 100% cotton. The fabric  is structured enough to hold its shape but soft enough that it feels unbelievably comfortable, truly! As far as sustainability goes, we even asked our factory to use eco-friendly interfacing and glue so we could be as sustainable as we possibly can.

The Eleanor Dress is made from 54% Lyocell, 46% cotton. It flows so easily, features nice deep pockets, and has a cozy, soft feel that's pretty rare to find.

The Louise and Eleanor both have adjustable waist tabs, so you can wear them buttoned in for a more defined shape (basically, get yourself looking snatched) or have them buttoned to the looser setting as the day goes on (and dinner happens, or bloating, or you just want extra room). And yes, they both have pockets, because every dress should.

The recycled-fabric pieces - mix and match sets

The Georgiana Vest, Elisabeth Mini Skirt, Elisabeth Midi Skirt (with optional slit), and the Alice Top (with double-ended zipper) are made from a recycled polyester and rayon blend. The fabric is buttery soft, drapes beautifully, and has that subtle weight to it that makes a piece feel premium quality. Mix and match the tops and skirts into different sets and you've got several outfits from a handful of pieces.

The Georgiana Vest and both Elisabeth Skirts have adjustable waist tabs too. And like the dresses, the bottoms have pockets (the tops don't, but they're tops, we forgive them).

The whole point is to wear it again

There's this cultural expectation that bridal outfits be worn for one event and then they're done. But why? Why shouldn't a rehearsal dinner dress become your favorite piece next summer, or a white two-piece set turn into a go-to look for a night out or a weekend trip somewhere warm? Hello?! 

The truth is, the most sustainable bridal pieces are the ones you wear over and over again. The fabric matters, the construction matters, but what really matters is whether you actually pull it out of your closet a year from now. Pieces that feel timeless and versatile will always be the ones you grab time and time again.
